K16 CLOCK AWARD
(Unit of Award: Heat Transfer Division (HTD))

Date Established 1995
Achievement Recognized Outstanding and continuing contributions to the science and engineering of heat transfer in electronics
Limitations Suggested rule is to avoid giving the K16 award as well as the EPPD excellence award for heat transfer to the same person in the same year: The winner of the K16 clock award is not eligible for nomination to the EPPD award in the same year. This requires that we complete the K16 nomination and announce the results before the EPPD nomination process begins. I suggest that this can be done by completing the K16 award nomination process by July 15th and announce the results before July 30th.
Nomination Deadline 10/16
Form of Award Standard certificate   Clock
Frequency of Presentation Annually
Administrator of Award Heat Transfer Division
Recipients Selected By Awarded jointly by the EPPD and the K16 Committee on Heat Transfer in Electronic Systems
Selection Process If there is a change of the chair of the K16 committee the award will be given to the outgoing chair for his/her contributions to the committee. That year the vote will consist of getting a majority of the past winners of the award to agree that the outgoing chair has served well and deserves the award In years when there is no change of the chair the award is given by getting a list of nominations from the K16 members at large A vote will then be held with all of the K16 members allowed to vote for all nominees. The vote will require the K16 members to rank all nominees from 1 to n. The award will be given to the nominee with the lowest average score (closest to 1).
